2024 was filled with alot of ‘behind the scenes’ work, foundation setting, networking, and learning about the other (very critical) facets of being an independent artist. During this time, I was still working on creating, but that included more variety than the usual…
In March 2024, I held my first 90s Rock Cover Concert. This was a solo effort in all ways you look at it - from arranging my own versions of 9 different 90s rock songs from Radiohead to Alice in Chains, to securing the venue, hosting the show, and curating a “behind the music” style of background for each song I played. I even encouraged my attendees to dress in their best 90s gear. It was a hit and I had so much fun! I also learned that arranging covers is not for the faint of heart! That said, I plan on hosting many more shows that include my neoclassical spin on rock and roll. Stay tuned.
In December 2024, I hosted my first Classical/Holiday Concert. This was again, a solo effort, and a sold out show. True to form, I included a variety of music that wasn't limited to just Holiday jingles, but favorites from classical and neoclassical composers and a few of my own compositions.
In 2025, I'm starting out the year by recording 2 new singles with a small, independent studio here in Chicago. These new pieces are a long time coming and I have a few more under my belt that should be ready to record by Spring. I also plan to re-record my original album, Sketches from the Dark. A large undertaking, but one that I've been wanting to do to improve the acoustic piano sound and make for a better listening experience for my loyal streamers out there. Finally, more concerts are in the works….just trying to figure out what fun ideas to pursue next.
